Brief overview of our plan, thoughts?
We are Americans applying for a citizenship certificate for my husband who has five french-canadian great grandparents. We have two kids currently 16 and 15. Our plan is to get my husband's certificate, then apply for the kids. I was told this would likely be faster than applying for husband and kids together. Our main goal is to give the kids the opportunity to live and work in Canada if they want to and give us a place to go outside the US if we need to. Because, well *gestures at the entirety of the US* but for now we have no current plans to move to canada. I assume if we did I would need to be sponsored by my husband and then apply for citizenship for myself? Does this make sense? Will we run into difficulty with the timing because the kids are already teenagers? Is there a different way we should go about it? Thanks for any input you all may have about it.
