On April 15, 1988, 17-year-old Randy Leach vanished from a rural pre-graduation party in Linwood, Kansas. He didn't just disappear—he vanished along with his mother’s **gray 1985 Dodge 600 sedan**, leaving zero physical evidence behind for nearly four decades.

**Key Facts**
**Date & Location:** April 15–16, 1988 | Linwood, Kansas (Leavenworth County)

**Last Seen:** At a bonfire party with 70–150 people. Witnesses gave conflicting accounts of his condition, but no one saw him—or the car—leave the property.

**Why Cover This Case?**
**The Vanishing Car Angle:** How does a 6'3" teenager and a full-sized sedan completely vanish without a single tire track, car part, or scrap of evidence?
**Multiple Theories:** Ideas range from an accidental drive into a local river, pond, or flooded quarry (searched by dive teams including *Adventures With Purpose*) to foul play, cover-ups, and local rumors.
**Investigative Turmoil:** The case includes a botched lead in 1993 that led to brief wrongful arrests, plus decades of legal battles by Randy's parents trying to get local law enforcement to unseal investigative records.
**Current Status:** Cold Case / Missing Person. Investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office.
