I like what they did with Alicents character until..

I kind of liked how they made her character more sympathetic and had nuance. I liked that they showed her coming from a place of bitterness due to her having to perform duty at such a young age and although she loved Rhaenyra as a friend she knew Rhaenyra had not been dutiful and made sacrifices like she herself had to. They should have still left the rift and the coldness mixed in with regret as she still has to be her enemy now because as she said it was “too late.” And she has to protect her sons and all that she was forced to sacrifice her life for at too young of an age. I liked that version even over book Alicent who had a generational scheme she’d be playing out since the start, but now. Now I don’t even know what she’s supposed to be it’s like they’ve reduced her to a puddle of just anything weirdest character arc and choice I’ve probably ever seen tbh
