The app just appeared on my phone one day. Omnichat: We Connect You. Thinking it was some kind of Verizon bloatware, I tried deleting it. Ramona Flowers? Popped up as a text on her 2000s-ass flip phone. Marcille Donato? A letter appeared on the ground in front of her, addressed to her with my message inside. My texts to Dina and Ellie were transformed into a radio signal that they just happened to receive. No matter the circumstance, no matter the level of technology, no matter whether the person is even real or not, the messages go through. And more often than not, I get a response.

Completely unbeknownst to me, there's a little more information that they get that I don't send them: the fact that I'm from another world, and how I feel about the person I've messaged. Ramona got little blurb about how she's one of my longest standing crushes (just leaving out the whole fictional thing). In the letter Marcille received, there was an extra, neatly-written letter describing how cute I think she is. We won't talk about the description of my horny feelings for Canari that she received alongside my simple "hello?" test text.
