# The "Overachiever" raider shotgun

Favored by raiders for its versatility, it has been put to good use against solace compounds

# General idea

With this one you get even more wacky ammo, but you completely lose buckshot as an option.

You get:

**Bola shells**

**Dragons breath**

**Improved homemade**

**Flechettes (maybe)**

**Explosive slug**

# Lore

*While soldiers of the nation and empire made improvised buckshot and used mostly conventional loads, the bandits were an entirely different story. Having little reliable means of obtaining conventional ammo, they set out to make shells more "specialized" for their task.*

*This became widely known after a raid on a solace ammo production facility, where they used specialized ammo to cut communication lines, burn a powder storage, and scared the coalition so badly the workers surrendered. They made use of the supplies to restock and make ammo, but unfortunately for them a patrol arrived before they could finish. In their haste one man got shot, and solace was able to inspect both the gun and half finished ammo. What they found was remarkable.*

*A ball round that split in two mid flight connected by steel wire, capable of cutting wire or wrapping around a person. It could be used to tie someones leg, or choke them. Another round was even worse, using the incendiary compounds of a modified "Judgement", the raiders had effectively made a "fire-buckshot", that seared flesh and blinded others momentarily. Solace was relived to find the pellets burned up after travelling a short distance.*

*They also had some basic "homemade", but used far more powder than what was normal. Solace tested the rounds the of the dead raider, and found some had little effectiveness, but others where horrifyingly powerful.*

*The last round was by far the worst. Putting a small blank round in a slug, this one detonated after penetration, spewing shrapnel in every direction. The solace guard who was shot by this died near instantly, and the gaping wound in his torso spoke numbers of the effectiveness.*

*While solace tried to hide the events of what happened, rumors spread of rounds that where like a dragons flame, buckshot that could kill a shocktrooper and a slug so powerful it mimiced that of an anti tank rifle.*

*Chaos soon ensued on the front, with many soldiers trying to replicate these legendary rounds. Most of them failed, and the officer watch quickly started punishing those caught making illicit shells. Still, those few that managed would keep their recipies secret, and use them to great effect.*

# Stats

It has the same handling and reload as the last one

Ammo: 2/4 max of 6

Q action is the loading menu again, select what to load in what order

**Bola shells**

No material pen

**<40 studs** – 105 damage – Helmets Deflect
**40 studs** – 90 damage – Helmets Deflect
**>70 studs** – 50 damage – Helmets Deflect
You have to hit all pellets with this one in the body, but it will have the potential to oneshot.

Two projectiles with a wire between, this one would use projectile physics. It would be like a wide crossbow bolt, but has less projectile drop.

It has a uniqe ability, wrap. When shot at a leg, it will reduce the movement speed of the target and disable running for 4 seconds. If they are currently running or charging, they will trip and fall. If you hit a headshot on an unhelmeted person, it will wrap around their neck and choke them over 9 seconds. They can cut themselfes loose with the medkit scissors, or get help. They cannot do callouts when choking.

**Dragons breath**

No material pen

**<20 studs** – 8x15 (120) damage – Helmets Deflect
**30 studs** – 6x15 (90) damage – Helmets Deflect
**>70 studs** – 0x15 (0) damage – Helmets Deflect (Its burnt out)

Each pellet applies a burn of 4, for a total of 60 damage. Its a minor burn, but you can follow it up incinerate someone with a heavy burn. Great for distractions.

Hitting a pellet from one round and following up with another will NOT trigger lethal burn.

**Homebrew improved**

No material pen

**<20 studs** – 15x9 (135) damage – Knocks Helmets
**20 studs** – 13x9 (117) damage – Knocks Helmets (Only metal)
**>40 studs** – 9x9 (81) damage – Helmets Deflect

Homebrew costs 1/4th of regular ammo (6 reserve becomes a whopping 24!)

There will be random metal fragments, and these will replace the regular rock pellets in the shell. There can be 0-8 metal bits, and it is completely random. Metal pellets do 30 damage. A max metal load does 255! Of course, this is rare and you wont know if you have one.

NEW: Random amount of extra powder, adding 0-1-3-5 damage to each pellet.

Total damage will then be full metal+max powder = 300. You can instakill a shock, if you are very lucky.

**Explosive slug**

Standard penetration

**<25 studs** – 199 damage – Obliterates Helmets
**25 studs** – 170 damage – Knocks Helmets
**>60 studs** 140 damage - Knocks Helmets

The explosive slug would trade the other slugs wallpen for lethality, doing a shiton of damage and having not that bad falloff due to blowing up insde someone.

At all ranges it will knock people on their ass (mimics anti tank according to lore), and you get a concussion of 70 damage through your helmet.

This one might be broken. Balancing wacky ammo is a wacky buisness, and i understand why red has not added any other shells. I made the exuse that bandits made their own ammo, since the ammo in this gun would not exist for another 30 or so years.

Let me know what you think*.* Any way to actually balance it, and would you use it?
