whatsapp official apk

hi guys. i need whatsapp and it to work properly and notifications to arrive not delayed. my backup plan is sinnpky to install it in the private spacd where i have all my gms apps... but i had an idea. the official whatsapp website offers the apk. does it work well if i download that and use it without any battery restriction in the owner profile where i do not have gms? do i risk anything? i used plexus but there is one single review about: apk, degoogled, grapheneos... without any comment. if someone have this setup, could let me know if and how it works? thanks
