CONSULAR PROCESSING TRAVEL BAN
I've been trying to stay patient, but it's becoming really frustrating.
Many of us who are going through "consular processing" have had our lives put on hold because of the travel ban. We're not asking for special treatment we're simply asking for our cases to be processed fairly.
What makes this even harder is that there was supposed to be a "review after 180 days", yet many of us haven't seen any meaningful update or communication. Families remain separated, interviews have been completed, petitions approved, and yet everything is still in limbo.
For those of us with approved immigrant petitions who are waiting overseas, there isn't much we can do except wait indefinitely. It feels like we're being forgotten.
So I wanted to ask the community:
- Is anyone else here affected by the travel ban while going through "consular processing"?
- Have you received any updates from your embassy or the NVC?
- Has anyone contacted their congressional representative, filed a lawsuit, or found any other legal or practical option that helped?
- Is there anything we can realistically do while we wait?
I'd really appreciate hearing from others in the same situation. The uncertainty is probably the hardest part.
