Seeking perspectives: How strict is the vetting for MediFund, and should inconsistencies be called out?
Hi, I ran into a dilemma recently and wanted to get some realistic advice.
Someone recently posted about their massive medical bills ($50k) and mentioned needing MediFund. The individual had difficulty applying for Medifund for the past few years. After seeking MP's help and created a ruckus on the social media, he finally managed to get the medifund for his medical bills. However, a quick check on their public profile shows frequent posts showcasing business class travel (when he already faced medical issues), luxury designer bags, and expensive luggage. In addition, a recent post shows a shopping background in Burberry boutique store.
I know medical bills can devastate anyone's finances, but it felt a little unfair to those who are genuinely struggling to see someone living a high-end lifestyle leveraging MediFund.
Am I being unreasonable or overly judgmental if I point out these inconsistencies? Or is it better to assume Medical Social Workers evaluate holistic wealth (e.g., liquidity vs. assets) during the application process?
