pronunciation tips? d followed by r

Hi all, after years of learning I still struggle producing d+ r insieme. Like in madrelingua or strada, my tongue feels slow and lazy, and the word often comes out sounding clunky because of it. For context, my native language is english. Anyone else overcome a similar issue, and if so, how? Grazie mille!
