Ruling Pls

So I was informed when I deal damage to a Pal, their power does not go down. So for ex: if I have a Brave Foxparks, and my opponent has a Jormuntide Ignis that was just hit with a rifle. Will my foxparks die as well since the power of the pal did not go down, only damage was dealt?. A clarification would help due to almost losing a game to this ruling against me. THANK YOU!
