Is a career in cosmetics and hair tech worth pursuing in India?

I've always been a aesthetics connoisseur and irregardless of my family's endeavours at promoting me to pursue something more 'practical', I'm persistent on pursuing cosmetology or aesthetics after my graduation, though I'm skeptical about the lucrativeness of these industries in and and beyond India. Can someone lmk if I should give it a shot or pursue something prudent like social work?
