Finally got a promotion!!

Advice

Last week I found out I’m being promoted from Personal Assistant to Executive Assistant, along with a 7% pay increase! 🎉

For a bit of context, I’m not new to the role. I’ve already been working in a pretty senior PA position supporting executive leadership, so the day-to-day probably won’t change dramatically.
It’s more that my title is finally catching up with the level I’ve been working at.

I’m also really lucky to work in a flexible environment. I can WFH when my exec is travelling, and one of my long-term goals is to eventually travel with him on work trips. I know that isn’t something that’s just handed to you though, so I’d love to prove the value of having me there in person.

I’d love to hear from people who’ve made a similar move. Did anything change for you once you officially became an EA? Was there anything you did that helped build your credibility or opened up more opportunities?

If you’ve travelled with your executive, how did that come about? Was it something you asked for, or did it happen naturally once they saw the value? And if you were in my position, what would you focus on next to keep progressing?
Would love to hear your experiences and any advice!
