Question for dumpers from healthy relationships

venting/ranting

By healthy, I mean no abuse, cheating or betrayals. Just miscommunication or unmet needs.

If it has been awhile for you (let's say 1+ year since the breakup) and both you and the dumpee have gotten over it, if the dumpee offers to meet up/go on a date and start things from scratch, would you consider this?

I was left by someone I really loved. He lost feelings due to unmet needs that he didn't properly communicate. I don't think we ever lost attraction, and in many ways, we were each other's ideal partner and first love. The first 2 months were difficult and I tried to repair it, but he stuck with his decision, so I focused on moving on and went NC. I started therapy, took better care of my life and improved in many ways that I think have made me a better partner. I dated someone briefly, but we had to end it, as he got a job in another city, and I wasn't interested in a LDR.

Through friends, I know my ex was single for a long time after our breakup, but I stopped hanging out with those friends for my own mental health, so I no longer know anything about his life. I recently saw him at an event I go to (I don't think he saw me), but it resurfaced old feelings. I was actually considering moving abroad next year, but seeing him made me curious. I'm wondering if it would be weird or unhinged if I asked him out. I know for sure I've made a lot of changes in my life, and I know if I were to ever start dating him again, I would need to see changes from him too, mainly around communication.

I guess I'm trying to decide if I'm being delulu or not. So as a dumper, has there ever been a point months or years after the breakup where you thought "if this person shows up again in my life and we're different, I would consider it"?
