Seller listed item as "Brand New" but it was used inside a factory-sealed box. Buyee says it's my fault for choosing Lite Plan.
I recently bought an item through Buyee from a Japanese seller. The listing clearly stated that the item was brand new.
When I received it, the outer box was still factory sealed. However, after opening it, the item inside was obviously used. It has visible scratches and wear that are completely inconsistent with a new product. I took photos documenting everything.
I contacted Buyee, but they denied my claim because I had selected the Lite Plan instead of the Standard Plan. They told me they could assist in situations like this only if I have selected the Standard Plan. But I'm wondering if the box was factory sealed, how would the Standard Plan have helped? Buyee wouldn't have known the item was used without breaking the factory seal, which they presumably wouldn't do during inspection.
Has anyone successfully gotten Buyee to make an exception in a case like this? Is there any way to escalate this with Buyee?
