Okay so I’ve been reading the Expanse, and watching some classic Star Trek (does The Next Generation count as classic when the Original Series is even more classic? Either way I’ve been watching Patrick Stewart)

I’m not saying I need to play in Star Trek (but it’s on the table) but I would love to write a romantic adventure story that has exploring strange new worlds and seeing space as a backdrop. While I do love stuff like the expanse which is gritty and realistic in places I do love the optimism of Star Trek and would love to include that in whatever setting we choose to use.

So, who are we? Are we captain and first mate of a vessel? Are we new recruits fresh out of the academy? Are you my escort and I’m an ambassador on an important mission? Are you a beautiful alien on a first contact whom I fall in love with? So many possibilities!

Our uniforms are scattered around the room, this is what they should expect when they make us work in close proximity and wear such tight outfits. It’s just interstellar diplomacy on a small scale. The artificial gravity and life support make the cold emptiness of space feel just like home as we rut like animals. I don’t know how we haven’t started doing this sooner, we seem so compatible.
