We had a problem with roaches earlier this year, my boyfriend was up late one night and saw one crawl out from under our fridge / washing machine area. It was big and looked a bit like an oriental one, but when he pulled out the fridge there were a bunch of American roaches and babies and eggs. We had pest control come and she did all the stuff and confirmed they were American.

Fast forward, I would see dead bugs, which looked like baby roaches, on the floor of the kitchen some mornings, maybe like once every week or so, but this last week or two I have seen alive ones on the kitchen counter, only ever one at a time and no adults, so I contacted our landlord and pest control and they are coming on saturday. I took a picture of one I saw this morning and sent it to pest control in case it would help, and they tried to tell me it is a “cochinilla”, not a cockroach, yet when i google cochinilla, the results look nothing like the bug I saw. It has antaenna and the two spikes in the back like a roach. Idk if it’s a roach, but it damn sure looks like one and it makes me want to vomit. They are still coming thank god but I wanted to confirm this is a roach. If it is german, I don’t know if I want to know because I think I may have a panic attack.

I have a phobia of roaches, and this is a studio apartment so I am very on edge over this. Thank you.

This is a baby roach, right?
