I don't feel like I belong (being masc)

vent/rant

I don't know if it's just me or it's a common experience for those who are trans, or a bit of both. But I, as a masc enby (female), don't really feel like I belong with others.

I cannot vibe with men. Even when I'm good friends with women, I feel like the friendship has a sort of an invisible glass ceiling. Like there are limits to the intimacy of the friendship. I understand that sometimes women may feel 100% comfortable with only other women, and not an enby, and I respect that. But that leaves me in a space of nothingness.

I am friends with other queer people. And I understand that many queer people prioritize queer bonds over others. But for me, it's not necessary that I find warmth in mostly other queer people. Most people in whom I have found empathy and warmth have been cishet women, surprisingly.

I don't know. I feel lonely. The only place I find some closeness that I do desire, is in dating. But then again, I don't want that space to be the only space where I feel like I belong.

Does anyone else feel the same? Or is it something that's on me?
