How do I get a job?

How do I get a job?

Specifically a good paying one. I really don't want to be structurally unemployed.

For context I’m currently doing my state's end of high school testing and live in a high cost of living area. A big thing that plagues me is the idea of not being able to afford to live here.

I’d like a career with employability and room for salary progression, hence why I thought of accounting.

I’ve begun applying for Cadetship programmes (part time uni + full time work) already however they are competitive in the sense I am going against 1st year University students. I am well aware there is a strong chance I do not get an offer, the experience of interviewing alone is helpful.

I would just like some advice or insights into whether accounting is future proof and whether It would be a hard time finding employment (I’d do have access to my country’s financial capital Sydney)

Also I am questioning whether a trade might be better? But I don't understand how that would pan out, I know I would skip the debt of a degree but I assume a degree promises a higher salary 10 or 15 years past high school.

If anyone could explain a potential career and salary progression of a trade (say electrician or whatever the most technical one is) that would be awesome.

I am just looking for some advice or insight.
