Sued by Tradeify
Tradeify is suing me for $30,000 over a $1,500 dispute.
A few weeks ago, I disputed approximately $1,500 in charges from Tradeify because I genuinely believed the charges were not justified.
Today, I was formally served with a lawsuit. According to the claim, Tradeify is seeking $30,000 in damages, in addition to other legal costs.
To be clear, I'm not saying I'll necessarily lose the case. I was simply shocked by the amount they're claiming over a relatively small dispute.
I'm currently trying to understand:
- Has anyone here been sued by a prop firm over a chargeback or payment dispute?
- Is seeking $30,000 in damages for a $1,500 dispute common?
- What should I expect moving forward?
I'm already planning to get legal advice, but I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's dealt with something similar or has experience with civil lawsuits involving chargebacks or prop firms.
