Guy I turned down transferred 100 bucks for my bday

So there is this guy, we’ve met on a dating app many years ago, but it never went further than chatting he never dared to meet up. Eventually we didn’t talk anymore at all as life went on. Still, he was always lurking around. Liking my social media posts, viewing my stories.. for years.
Now a few months back, we got in touch again and we even met up, called a lot, chatted a lot and so on.
He already paypaled me 250 bucks back then, just to spoil me, but he was overall very clingy and needy, wanted to chat 24/7, meet up everytime I had a free evening, or call every night. It was exhausting and I’m not that kind of person so after a month I turned him down, explaining that he is looking for something that I can’t give him.

Now it’s my birthday and he shot me a message, congratulating me. I thanked him, and then he messaged “I hope you received my gift” and then I saw a paypal notification, 100 bucks from him.

Now I’m unsure whether I should keep it or send it back cause I know he did this, hoping for another chance with me. I could definitely use the money and my best friend said to keep it, but I feel bad.. What do you say? Keep it or send back?
