Blood results
Hey fellow grass eaters,
Just wanting to vent really, and seek some advice and encouragement, I hope that's ok. I've been sick a few times this year, got my bloods done and I hit the trifecta - low vitamin D, anaemic, b12 lower than ideal. Pretty frustrating.
I've been vegan since 2016, had my bloods done a few times in that span and everything has been fine up until now. Man it feels like a gut punch to be in a position where my emotional and environmental dietary choices are having a negative impact on my health. Do no harm, doh, forgot about me!
The doctor was mildly on the nose about it (ah yes, being vegan explains everything, you'll want to discuss with the doctor in 1month about why you eat how you eat and how you could maybe change your diet to something "better").
Really wanting to show up in a month like "Hah! I *can* source my nutrients from veges!".
A) ouch my feelings
B) ouch, my body
C) how have you guys turned this around in your own lives?
I definitely drink way too much coffee, that's the first thing to change. Otherwise, more oranges, more supplements, more diverse colors in my food and more food full stop. I have been prescribed slow release Vit D, and I picked up some iron tablets, Vit C and a B12 gummy pack.
Otherwise, I hope to continue to eat in a way that I enjoy, that doesn't rely on animal suffering, and that has served me well over the last 10 years!
Any advice, encouragement, head slaps, anecdotes are welcome and I hope you all get a hug today from someone who loves you. X
