need advice

I am 8 days late from my period (its never late). Last period was on the 27th of June (Day 1) and I didnt have any unprotected s*x until the 26th of July - I thought I was outside my ovulation window. I am usually 30-32 day cycle - its not fixed. I took a pregnancy test this morning and it came up as positive. I am so unsure how this happened and I dont want to get my hopes up if its a false. Can anyone shed some light unless my ovulation window was totally out of wack. Any advice? Thanks
