How hard is Hindi C for non-native Hindi speakers?

itne flairs kaafi nahi mujhe aur chahiye 🙋

I never studied Hindi in school. My eighth grade was entirely online because of the pandemic, and our report cards were issued only as soft copies. We never received physical report cards, and I no longer have access to the digital one.

My college said they need documentary evidence from my school confirming that I never studied Hindi in order to exempt me from the Hindi GE requirement. The problem is that my school has since changed boards and is now affiliated with a different board from the one I studied under. They basically told me they can’t provide any such documentation.

So, I guess I’ll have to take Hindi.
I cannot read or write Hindi, and I speak pretty broken Hindi too. I’m only good at Hinglish because I picked it up through Bollywood and memes.

I’m guessing I’ll be placed in Hindi C. How difficult is it for someone who’s never formally studied Hindi and isn’t a native speaker? Where should I start preparing? I’m really worried about this affecting my CGPA, there aren’t any alternatives for me. I’m in BA Multidisciplinary, and the only way I could’ve been exempted from the Hindi GE was by providing proof that I’d never studied Hindi in the eighth grade, which I can’t anymore.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How manageable is Hindi C for a complete beginner?
