Need scholar recommendations

Scholarly Resource

I am looking for contemporary Muslim scholars or speakers similar to Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza, Sheikh Hassan Farhan al-Maliki, and Maulana Abul A'la Maudud,Maulana Ishaq,Sheikh kamal al haydari. I'm interested in those who take an independent, evidence based approach to early Islamic history and aren't afraid to discuss controversial topics like Muawiyah, the Umayyads, the first three caliphs, Saqifah, the fitan, and Ahl al Bayt using classical sources. I don't mind if they're Sunni, Shia, or non-sectarian,as long as they're knowledgeable, well-read, and academically serious. Any recommendations, especially underrated ones?
