Did a Pebble Time "Lite" ever exist?
I know Wikipedia could answer this for me—it would probably just say "No." But what I really want to say is that I feel like there’s a missing Pebble version that would have made me truly happy.
I originally bought the Time Steel and fell in love with the whole Pebble concept. I immediately grabbed the Time Round afterward and used it until I unfortunately broke it about two years ago. I gave the Time Steel to a friend.
Now, I’m eagerly waiting for my Time Round 2. But I can’t shake the feeling that it’ll be a compromise. This thought really settled in today when I looked at my other watches and happily tossed my heavy Time 2 into a drawer to wear a small, lightweight Casio instead. That’s why I’m sharing the image—it captures my taste in watches.
Why did the lighter versions always have to be round? I get the aesthetic appeal of round watches, but making digital or display-based watches round feels a bit impractical to me. Anyone prepping watch faces or apps for the Round 2 will probably understand.
So, here’s my frustration: Why do we only get to choose between a big, heavy Pebble or a round one?
Am I the only one who feels this way?
