Do you still get the “story” in NG+ ?

New player here, I started off in the standard new game, where it walks you through going to the watch tower, getting your first truck, fixing the bridge and finding the garage. (This is what I’m referring to as “story” although I guess tutorial is probably a better description.)

Anyway, I got into a bit of a mess with the dlc trucks (I have the 1 year anniversary edition) and sold them all, then felt like I’d cheapened the experience by getting loads of money early on. Then couldn’t figure out how much money I should have been on because I’d messed around so much with buying and selling things and done a few tasks (I know it should have been easy to just buy back all the dlc ones…. but that’s not what happened)

I’ve started a NG+ save and disabled the dlc trucks from the start, and it starts you off already at the garage - skipping the initial “story” / tutorial.

All this is to ask, will the content / hints / events / “story” in the rest of the game be the same as in standard mode from here on in? I don’t really want to miss out on anything like if there are similar “story” bits in the different regions.
