What are you guys doing for ingrown hairs?

Question for dark skinned melanated Ugandans with thick primarily 4C hair

I haven’t yet found anything that works and my skin looks terrible after a shave. I literally sent for some ka thing from E-bay with salicylic acid (years ago) and it didn’t work either
I don’t think Google understands our hair texture

Any recommendations? Scrubs? Oils? Pills?
Any skincare gurus here?
