Guilds? Help

Hi I'm new to palworld just got it on playstation. Didn't realise just how cool this game is, seems a bit overwhelming at the start but I'm enjoying the process so far. How do guilds work? Would anyone team up or let me join a guild for some help with the different in game systems? Let me know. If anyone wants to play I'd be happy to join but I guess when you join another server you have to start back from level 1?
