5’0” rider learning on a Speed 400 – what other bikes should I consider before buying?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 5’0” woman who’s currently learning to ride on a Triumph Speed 400, and I absolutely love it. I’m planning to buy my first bike soon, but before I commit, I wanted to know if there are any other bikes I should test ride that I might not be aware of.

I can’t flat-foot the Speed 400, but I can comfortably manage it with one foot, and so far that hasn’t been a dealbreaker.

What I’m looking for:

-Suitable for a 5’0” rider.
-Similar riding experience to the Speed 400 (or better).
-Something I can confidently use as a daily bike as well as for occasional highway rides.

For riders around my height:

-What do you own?
-Did you lower your bike or keep it stock?
-Are there any bikes you wish you’d considered before buying?

I’d really appreciate recommendations beyond the usual ones. I’d rather discover options now than regret not test-riding something later.
