Thoughts on E6’s?

It’s probably just me but every E6 I’ve met is either the most amazing person that motivates me to do better or makes me fear going into work. I’ve had E6’s show up and give guidance and mentorship that makes me want to improve myself for my troops but I’ve had E6’s that are cruel to me and others. I remember at least 3 E6’s I’ve gone to for help and nobody cared. I also remember them making false promises and gaslighting me and others into believing that they never said the promise to begin with. Has anybody ever had a view of this for any particular rank?
