[FROM CAT TO CGL]Took CAT 2025 and XAT with decent amount of preparation and got a 95.4 and 94.3 respectively(99 percentile in VARC section of both). Would start dedicated CGL preparation from now on(FOR CGL 2026) what do I need to keep in mind?

Help

First off I posted this before on this sub but didn't get any traction hence posting it again. I took CGL 2025 previous year papers as mocks(with sectional timing) and my average score in those(took 15 mocks from 22 to 26 September all shifts)

is 143.5 with an average of 32-35 in Maths

I understand tier 2 could be a whole different ball game but with it being scheduled in late January(or February if ita delayed) I think I'll have my best shot at it if I get through prelims. A rough strategy that I've chalked out includes(but not limited to) PYQs as a base for every subject and a few other resources(FATMAN for GK and topic wise OB questions for Math and Reasoning). Also for math I won't be doing topic wise questions rather id he jumping straight to sectional tests of PYPs and solving topic wise questions from OB and TB(FTF quants thing).I'll also be solving both full length and sectionals form TB and OB. I have a few questions

  1. First time sectional timings have been introduced would it have any effect on the cutoff? The time people use to allocate to quants now would come down by about 12-13 minutes

  2. Anyone here who has taken CAT here who difficult it is to clear tier 1 CGL in 8-10 weeks if basics are sorted

  3. If I clear prelims will the time between it and mains(4 months it was in 2025 and 2024) enough to be fully prepared for that stage? How different is tier 2 when it comes to question difficulty?

Any other advice would be appreciated thank you
