Something besides methadone

I'm currently on the methadone program for 4 years and I HATE the stuff. I usually only take it once or twice a week with phenergan or it does nothing for me. I've told my GP how I take it and tried to get prescribed phenergan but he said no.

Went to my methadone doctor last week to explain this and he nearly cut me off completely when I was looking for a different opioid I could take once or twice a week that doesn't have such a long half life and got put onto 3 days supervised instead of 1 which really annoyed me. He said it was either methadone or buprenorphine when I'd like something like dilaudid or oxycodone, to give me a chance to actually come off the stuff because my body isn't getting a break with the half life of the methadone.

A worker in the clinic said I could just take nurofen plus...

I'm just looking for some opinions/advice thanks.
