SAVE forbearance ending today?
I have two consolidated loans with MOHELA, and I submitted an application to move off of SAVE to IBR on July 13th. So far, I haven't heard anything from MOHELA about the status of my application other than that they have higher than normal volume of requests and will get back to me when they can.
Unrelated to my IBR application, I logged into my account yesterday and saw that they have my forbearance ending today, with payments starting on September 5th at exactly what my old SAVE amounts are, which is a quarter of what they should be for IBR.
I'm in year 5 of PSLF and I obviously don't mind making $80 payments when I should be owing $400+. I just don't want my payments to be deemed ineligible later because they were on the SAVE amounts. 24 of my current 49 months of qualifying employment would eventually need buyback and I don't want to keep adding to that.
I'm guessing (and hoping) that this is just a sign that my IBR application is being processed behind the scenes, but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this happen?
