Coastal Redwood Growth Progression and Next Steps

Progression since 7/17/26

First off, I'm new and very aware it should be growing outdoors. My apartment does not have a place that is outdoors and gets direct sunlight, so I'm doing my best.

I planted this Coastal Redwood as a sapling from Etsy on June 22nd. It's been growing like crazy. I've removed the lead branch twice now, first on June 27th, second on July 17th. I assume I'm doing it too often, but I'm getting a lot of growth on the lower section of the trunk.

Should I just take the top 12" off next? Wait until fall?
