I have a Spectrum mobile account. I transferred over from Verizon around a year ago as part of a family plan and brought over a cell phone number I've had for around 25 years. When I signed up for a Spectrum account at that time, I found out that someone else had apparently given my phone number when they signed up for the Spectrum TV and Internet account. I found this out because I had to reset the account to sign up, but since it has my phone number associated with it, they texted me the code and I logged in. Since this all happened as I was signing up, my email address also got associated with this other account.

I called them immediately and said "Hey, I've inadvertently gained access to this other account, let's fix that" and they told me that since I was an authorized user on that other account, I couldn't unless that other customer corrected the information...despite the fact that they \*know\* that's my cell number because they're the ones providing my cell service. After a LOT of back and forth they said they couldn't help me and advised me to just not log into that account anymore. I was pretty exasperated, so, whatever, fine.

Anyway, a year later and I'm getting emails and texts about this person's overdue account including their name, some of their account number, and even their address. I called them \*again\* and told me they couldn't help me for the same reasons. I told them this seemed like a bigger, data security issue and insisted we do something to protect this other person's info. They finally agreed to take off my email and phone number, so, funny, I guess it IS possible? Fast forward, and I'm still getting these notifications. Clearly Spectrum is not going to take these concerns seriously. Who do I report this to in order to make Spectrum actually pay attention and get this off my email/texts and/or fix this so they're not being so irresponsible with customer information? Or am I the only one who thinks this is problematic?

Company keeps sending me someone else's information
