I am sick and tired of the narrative around Mac Andrew.

"He's too undisciplined"
"He gives away way too many free kicks and it hurts the team"
"He needs to get a handle on it"
"He gives away so many of these a game" - referring to dissent

I see this sort of nonsense propagated throughout the media, match threads and throughout social media with zero backing to it whatsoever.

Well a simple look at the numbers shows that Mac is not even in the top 20 for free kicks given away in the competition. He's down at number 28 (tied with 5 other players, so really he's not even top 30.

And more importantly he's not even some sort of anomaly if you compare him to other defenders, coming in at 5th (with the top 20 in that list all being within 5 free kicks away from him). Additionally, he actually earns a lot more free kicks than some of the others on that list as well.

Why is it that so many other players act like Mac does, show some fire and are commended for "playing for the badge" whilst Mac gets called "a flog"

Why is it that this bloke continuously has to get called out for "attitude problems on field", when they're clearly not bad enough to be resulting in some crazy disadvantage to his team?

As far as I can see, the Suns actually need some players that give a fuck. Can that result in the occasional blow-up? Yeah, but its nowhere near as bad the media and supporters make it out to be. Its the same bullshit biases people have had for years rearing their ugly heads again.

Next time you justify your lazy argument about his "attitude problems hurting the team" maybe do the tiniest bit of research on it first.
