FEATURE REQUESTS
Hi Abdul,
First of all, I just wanted to say I really love your app. I recently switched over from NOOP because I found the UI quite frustrating compared to yours. Even something as simple as having a dedicated workout tab makes such a huge difference to the usability of the app. I honestly don’t understand why NOOP still hasn’t added something like this.
From what I can tell, this app is still fairly early in development, but the progress you’ve already made is really impressive. The thing I like most is how simple and intuitive everything feels. Features are laid out in a way that actually makes sense, and even though NOOP currently has more features, your app already covers the things that are most important. It doesn’t feel like anything essential is missing.
I had a few ideas and suggestions that I think could make the app even better. These are just things I’d personally love to see added over time.
- Manually adding workouts
One feature I think would be really useful is the ability to manually add workouts that weren’t automatically detected by the strap.
For example, NOOP allows you to add a workout, select the timeframe, and then use the heart rate data recorded by the band during that period to show:
Heart rate graphs
Heart rate zones
Heart rate recovery (how quickly your heart rate drops after finishing)
I think this would be really useful for activities where automatic detection isn’t always perfect.
It would also be great to have more activity options. Even if the actual tracking doesn’t change, being able to label workouts properly (boxing, running, cycling, swimming, strength training, etc.) would make the data much more useful.
A good filtering system would also be amazing, for example being able to filter workouts by:
Activity type
Strain
Duration
Date
One other small thing I’ve noticed with almost every fitness tracker is that calorie estimates are usually way too high. I know this is a difficult problem because most trackers struggle with it, but personally I’d rather the app underestimate calories slightly than overestimate them.
- Journaling and insights
The journaling feature is already really good, but I think this has the potential to become one of the most valuable parts of the app.
Some things I think would be useful to track:
Mood
Water intake
Coffee/caffeine (amount and time consumed)
Personal sleep quality rating
Medication
Custom entries (for example melatonin, supplements, stress levels, etc.)
The really exciting part would be connecting this data with the health metrics.
For example:
Does having coffee after a certain time affect HRV or sleep?
Does taking melatonin actually improve sleep quality?
How does stress affect resting heart rate and recovery?
Being able to see these relationships through graphs and trends would be incredibly useful. AI could also be used to generate insights, but I think being able to visually see these changes over time would be really powerful.
- Lab results tracking
One feature I really like from NOOP is being able to manually enter and track blood test results over time.
Being able to track things like:
Iron levels
Cholesterol
Vitamin levels
Other blood markers
would be really interesting, especially if these could eventually tie into the insights section.
- Breathing exercises
I think a breathwork section could be a really cool addition.
Something like:
Guided breathing exercises
Reminders to take a moment to breathe
Using the strap vibration to guide breathing
Tracking heart rate and HRV response afterwards
It could even help identify moments where someone might be stressed if their heart rate stays elevated despite trying to relax.
- Interval timer
Using the watch vibration as an interval timer would be really useful for training.
For example:
Boxing rounds
HIIT workouts
Running intervals
Rest periods between sets
- Smart alarms
A smart alarm feature would also be a great addition.
Using the vibration motor to wake you up, combined with sleep tracking, could allow the watch to wake you within a set window when you’re in a lighter stage of sleep.
For example, setting an alarm for 7:00am and allowing the watch to wake you anytime between 6:30–7:00am when it detects the best opportunity.
- Notifications
Having more control over notifications would also improve the watch experience.
Things like:
Selecting which apps can send notifications
Different vibration patterns for different apps
More customisation options
would be really useful.
- Exporting data to CSV
I’m not sure if this is already possible, but being able to export your data to CSV would be a great feature.
It would allow people to:
Analyse their own data
Create their own graphs
Use the data in other applications
Experiment with their own insights
Final thoughts
I’m still fairly new to the app, so I’ll definitely provide more feedback once I’ve used it for longer.
I’d also love to help with development at some point. I’m currently in the final years of my Mechanical Engineering degree, so time is a bit limited, but I’m really interested in areas like improving sleep algorithms and developing better insights.
I really like what you’ve created here. While NOOP has a lot of features, I feel like it has become a bit overloaded and the UI can sometimes make it frustrating to use. Your app feels much more focused, enjoyable, and intuitive.
I’m really excited to see where you take it in the future.
Thanks again for all the work you’ve put into it.
