My husband is making a 16oz cold brew with the luxe and espresso beans

I use the double to make a latte twice a day with the same beans, and for the summer he's been using the luxe on cold brew setting for 16oz. He said the amount of espresso it puts out on those settings isn't much more than ​what I get for a latte, but I don't know how that's possible. The espresso beans we use are pretty strong, he gets headaches without caffeine but he's not affected by "too much" like I would if I had a coffee past 5pm. Is that too much or do other people use those settings also?
