The representation of "loser" women in media

Discussion

Hello, I am currently making a master's dissertation in political science with the topic of how the on how the media (movies, books, series etc) creates unrealistic expectations and how this affects our relations irl. The point is to prove that Gramscis cultural Hegemony theory has not changed, being still true in this day and age

I am now going deep into the archetypes of the "loser girl"/nerd/femcell as I feel this is a relevant topic when comparing to the ppl they try to emulate. These characters r depicted attractive fitting beauty standards and their actions appeal to a set of men who r into "degenerate". Men who see these actions as kinks. I'm talking about characters like tomoko kuroki and Baeksun.

While I have started my anylisis I'm sure is not 100% correct and that's why I'm resorting to making a question on this sub. I can never understand on a personal lvl how this affects me as I'm not a women and I do not get the experience to an extent that I can under its consequences without testimonies of women whose archetypes affect directly in the real world.

Ik I'm in no position to ask for help, this sub is not for me so I'm sry for the post. But for those who feel like this is an issue please illuminate me on how these characters make u feel and how u think this affects how others perceive u.

Tysm in advance and sorry again for using ur space for this question
