Was for you to show up as your most authentic self,

No mask,

No performance,

Just you.

But it’s such a shame that you dislike your true self so much.

You traded emotional depth for convenience and surface-level pleasantries.

In turn, you’ve lost the one person who would’ve loved you through everything:

The good, the bad, and the dark.

When things fall apart,

Who will be there to catch you?

Who will be there to sit with you in silence as you break down in tears?

I hope you take this as a lesson of love -

To find the person who will stick by you when things get tough.

The one who won’t judge,

Won’t ignore,

Just waits and holds you.

And when you finally do,

Don’t take them for granted.

Never let them go like you did me
