Stepper driver comptaibility

Hi! I have a cnc kit with those cheap Chinese stepper drivers and nema 23 motors. I am wondering whether they can be used to drive smaller steppers too or if i need to get some Other drivers.

I am working on a hobby router and have some smaller steppers from an old 3d printer i want to use aswell as the nema 23s.

If anyone could help or point me in the right direction i would be very glad. Thanks
