Unlike Hollywood depicts it, ancient Troy was not part of the european/hellenic cultural sphere. It was an Anatolian indigenous polity, similar to the Hittites (In fact, Troy was likely a vassal of the Hittite empire at some point before the achaean/mycenaean invasion)
