Do I need to consolidate ?

I have 11 years of uninterrupted federal qualifying employment

I have about 109 of qualifying payments

I am presently paying about $225 a month

I applied for PSLF buyback in summer 2025 no word yet on that

I received a message today very technical saying I need to consolidate my 6 loans into a direct loan .

Do I need to do this ? When I started doing it my loan payment would double each month to about $450 a month .

Any advice would be helpful
