is this a whole list of red flags?
I was hired as a contingent worker for a medical manufacturing company and today was my my first day of work but I can't help but to think that today was very weird. The thing is that I was told to wait in the lobby for a while which ended up being over an hour then afterwards when someone came to get me, it wasn't even the manager that i was told to report to but someone with a similar name. I later found out that guy wasn't even a manager but a senior technician but manages for the manager
I got my keycard and locker but I wasn't issued the safety boots which I was told was already prepared for me since I had told the recruitment agent my size when I signed the contract last month, the reason I wasn't issued it was that they didn't order it, there wasn't an onboarding either which I was later told by the people in the department I was assigned to that I was supposed to have one and it was weird that I didn't go through one since every contingent/temp worker and new hires was supposed to go through one
So according to my colleagues in the department, I was supposed be given a tour of area and other stuff but my colleagues in the department I was assigned to were really nice and went out of their way to improv most of what the onboarding would be and even gave me a tour of the building that I was supposed to have but still said that there was still a lot that only management could do
My colleagues even messaged the senior technician and they never got an answer, oh btw my colleagues they are all full timers, I was the only temp worker in the department. Strangely the agent at recruitment agency I got the job through didn't even have a line of contact to the manager and his number wasn't even listed in the contract
and if I were to quit now, I would have to hand in my 3 day notice AND vaild supporting documents on why I'm quitting or else I'll need to pay a 200 dollar penalty
