Insensitive people and rant
I have always struggled with celiac, like my whole life, I was diagnosed when I was 5 and I live at a place where wheat is in every meal, people don't know what gluten is and they can't fathom how someone could be allergic to it. Thanks to my mom who made it 100x easier for me.
But just last year I moved to college and I knew that it was going to be a struggle, thankfully we found an off campus housing whose cook agreed to make me gluten free food I knew there was cross contamination but I didn't had any other options, a few months back she left the hostel and new cooks kept coming and going luckily my warden was very kind and told all of those cooks how to make food for me. But that warden also left during the summer break, now the cooks hired are all new they are not compassionate or empathetic at all, ever since I am back they have been making me feel like a burden, not intentionally but it's something I have always struggled with, they agreed on making me seperate food with difficulty too, today when I went down they said that I should eat everything ( they meant that I should eat gluten) and that doctors spew nonsense to just earn money, one of them said that you should eat everything everyone is going to die anyway. I just can't help but feel like a burden.
Sometimes I can't wait for the time when I am living alone and cooking my own food so I don't feel like a burden
Can anyone tell me if you are in the same situation as me, or how do you deal with it
Please keep in mind that I live in India and we don't have a gluten free stuff over here
