Does it even make sense to get better weapons after necromancer staff?

So I got the necromancer staff and just farmed heavily for the zamorak staff took me a while but finally

Now in wondering, ascension cores are fairly cheap and im killing blue dragons with my necromancer staff anyways, wont a level 6 necro staff outdamage every other staff? Even the zamorak staff in terms of fire dmg?
