Regarding Clan Leader Impeachment

The leader of my clan has been offline for months now, and I was wondering if impeachment only transfers leadership?

Like, would that person still be in the clan after impeachment, just not the be the clan leader anymore, or would that account be completely removed from the clan?

I kind of want to impeach my clan leader (who has been offline for around 80 days or so, so it's not like I didn't wait) but I don't want to if it means this person gets kicked out. Especially since you lose your points for the garden furniture if you leave a clan, as far as I know.
