Has anyone dyed their neck wood, specifically the fingerboard?

I've got an N2.6 Blue Aura and I want to dye the fingerboard to match the Ebonol appearance.

Has anyone done that on their Strandberg? Any thoughts? Any pitfalls? Any success stories?
