Still making bags in the US in 2002?

Just bought this bag on Ebay and now I'm second guessing it. I thought manufacturing moved to China in 2000/2001, but this Legacy says Made in US in 2002.

These were the only two photos so I'm hoping the other side isn't in terrible shape, but I grabbed her because the price was only $40 including shipping. (um, it was also in someone else's cart, so my apologies if that was someone here!)
