White male protagonist goes to meet a female informant on a rooftop, but she is pushed to her death before they meet
I'm looking for an action/conspiracy thriller.
I watched it on Netflix, Prime Video, or U-NEXT in Japan within the last 1–2 years, but the movie itself may have been released earlier.
Here's what I remember:
- The protagonist is a white male, probably in his 30s or 40s, with short hair.
- He isn't an ordinary civilian. He seems like a former agent, investigator, soldier, or someone with professional combat training, but I don't remember his exact background.
- He dresses casually and mostly works alone.
- The movie begins at night.
- While he's out (possibly with someone else), he receives a phone call from a female informant asking him to meet her.
- He drives a sedan to a quiet public building (possibly a library, courthouse, university, or government building).
- He parks in front, enters through glass doors, and walks upstairs toward the rooftop where they're supposed to meet.
- Before reaching the rooftop, he hears a loud thud.
- He goes outside and discovers that the woman has been pushed off the roof of the 2–3 story building. She may also have been shot first, but I'm not sure.
- He recovers some kind of evidence from her bag (possibly a USB drive, SD card, phone, or documents—I can't remember exactly).
- The killers wear dark clothing or suits and seem like professional assassins.
- The protagonist uses a gun but I don't remember him wearing a visible holster.
- The rest of the movie is about exposing a government or corporate conspiracy.
- I believe the ending involves publishing the evidence online.
It's definitely a movie, not a TV series.
Does anyone know what movie this is?
